I know I need something with a third pedal, but I also badly want a camper van. This one so happens to be a pretty good deal.

When I was a kid my parents had a 1982 GMC Vandura conversion van, and I have so many good memories of that thing.

What I’m getting at is, if you can find an old American conversion van that’s in good shape, grab it. They’re super simple and cheap to fix, they’re amazing fun, and I really do think they’ll be worth something some day.

$2500?! $2500!? Gaaaaa!

That is an amazing find. All it needs is a transfer case and TTB front suspension to be perfect. That may be the best CL ad I’ve ever read too.

Don’t know about the Ford or Dodge, but you could get the GM G-series vans with a manual... They’re just rare AF, especially among conversion vans. I’m pretty sure I’ve only seen one IRL.

My dad had two 80's G20's (at the same time!) and as bizarrely enjoyable as it was to drive a thing that big, putting gas into them was never fun. They both had the same engine, and the one would do 13mpg on a good highway run, and we could never get the other tuned to do better than 11.

Man that thing is so damn cool. If I ever take my graphic design to the freelance world, I’d buy one of these and just drive the country with my laptop and some bluetoofs.

If that was Vancouver Washington I’d be there in two hours to snap it up!

I’ve never seen a manual G-van, but I’m often looking for them. I found a manual Safari once, and yesterday I found a manual Aerostar which was unexpected.

It definitely won’t be fun to put gas in it, but more fuel efficient campers are so much more expensive it’s not worth it

I’d already be going to get it, but he doesn’t want to show it to tomorrow it looks like, so I’ve gotta wait and hope it isn’t bought by someone in line before me

The manual g I saw was a 10 shorty at a show, so could be an exception I suppose. It looked pretty weird with the shifter sticking out of the floor, so there’s a good chance it wasn’t original... It was a long time ago though.

Oh they definitely made them from the factory, but probably not many

Oh I know. But for how rare they are and the context was a hot rod show?

Now you’ve got me wanting a manual Astrafari.
